As a litigator for six years at Davis Polk, I represented the world’s leading corporations and their C-suite executives across industries in headline litigations, investigations, and arbitrations—against corporations and governments; at trial and appellate levels; in state, federal, and international courts. MY practice was focused on civil litigation, but included criminal matters as well, and spanned a wide variety of legal areas, including contracts, torts, white collar crime, securities law, organizational law, constitutional law, international law, antitrust, bankruptcy, and legal procedure. The cases were complex and high-stakes, and involved novel, often never-before-litigated questions. I led associate teams in all aspects: litigation strategy and legal analysis; pleadings; motions (wide variety); oral argument; discovery (papers, negotiation, analytics, productions); witnesses and experts; settlement agreements; government presentations; factual development; and alternative dispute resolution.
